Compensation and Benefits
One way the University supports its commitment to retain top quality staff is to
offer a benefits package that is considered to be among the finest in higher
education as well as other major employers. The University’s wide array of
benefits, including health and welfare coverage for employees and their
dependents, defined benefit plan (currently, there are no required employee
contributions) with a choice of several voluntary deferred savings
plans, and generous time-off plans add significantly to an employee's total
compensation.
UCR employees enjoy a total compensation package that far exceeds the value of
their base salary. Benefits vary by employee category and appointment
type. Official provisions affecting employees are contained in the
applicable
personnel policies
or
collective bargaining contract.
